Hi, I'm Mia
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of my life overseas.
How It Started
Relocating to Germany wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly became something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, fresh routines, and new expectations. Daily chores seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, habits took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Ridge Crossing Sunrise
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Germany.
What This Site Represents (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A general travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Germany continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
